The organic PGS evaluation form is based on a point system. It covers all aspects of the producer promise and the PGS standards. The same form is used for independent producer self-assessments, producer group internal monitoring, and the external evaluation visits.
Each question has points ranging from 0 to 5. If a producer gets 0 points for any of the questions, they have not met PGS standards and cannot be approved.
At the end of the form, the total number of points can be used to calculate the producer’s level. A farmer that just meets minimum requirements may be one star. A farmer that is focused on regenerative agroecological practices may be five stars.
