The Foundry is a self-organized residency in rural Galicia that provides space for people to work on projects outside the confines of the market or academia and contributes to self-sufficiency and sustainable living. Members and invited guests host workshops, reading groups, craft days, film screenings, and other events. Past workshops and events have focused on metal forging, ceramics, woodworking, cooking, gardening, music, painting, yoga, meditation, and many other topics. The Foundry includes community buildings made of recycled stonework from a fifteenth-century fort and ironworks and a food forest garden.
