It offers a low-cost, locally adapted approach to understanding, monitoring, and reducing negative environmental impacts and transitioning to climate-responsible, circular economy practices for micro, small, and medium enterprises that cannot afford expensive international certifications.
The participatory process builds trust and accountability and supports data-driven decision-making.
1. Learn and Monitor
Good Market Approved enterprises participate in learning programs, sign a commitment, and develop record-keeping systems to monitor energy, water, waste, transport and supply chain, and biodiversity impacts.
2. Verification Visits
Technical leaders and community volunteers conduct site visits to review record-keeping systems, monitor and verify practices, and suggest future improvements.
3. Certificate
Enterprises that meet the minimum standards are eligible for a Climate Action Verified badge and certificate for one year.
