Scarf organizes Empower Aberdeen, an annual event that brings together over 60 charities to provide free support and expert advice from health and housing to money and energy. Scarf is Good Business Charter-accredited, an accredited Living Hours Employer by Living Wage Scotland, a member of Social Enterprise Scotland, and part of the Local Energy Scotland consortium. They provide a faster and more accessible pathway for small businesses to formalize their values, align with the triple bottom line, and become certified benefit corporations without the cost or complexity of traditional certification systems, which are built for larger organizations. Certified businesses receive a digital badge for use on their website, online communications, and branded materials. BCFG offers certification scholarships to underserved businesses and community organizations and donates to social justice and environmental organizations. They support Oregon Pride in Business and On Purpose Oregon.

NODO Rescate de Excedentes combats food insecurity, reduces food waste, and promotes sustainable food systems in Argentina. They rescue imperfect and surplus fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be discarded as waste. The rescued produce is distributed through food banks that prepare meals for socially vulnerable people experiencing food insecurity. NODO engages a network of volunteers and raises awareness about sustainable production, marketing, and consumption systems. By preventing food from decomposing in landfills, they reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water waste. NODO started as a collaborative project in the Mar y Sierras region and now serves food banks across the country.

Pretty Good makes repair, reuse, and resale real alternatives to buying new in Switzerland. They collect, repair, refurbish, and resell secondhand electronics, household goods, furniture, and other items rescued from municipal disposal sites and returns from online retailers. Pretty Good partners with social enterprises and labour market integration organizations to form a network of repair shops for cracked, broken, or slightly defective products that are still functional. They contribute to the circular economy by extending the lifespan of consumer products that would otherwise be discarded as waste. Pretty Good prices products significantly below retail rates to be accessible for everyone and donates repaired items to charitable organizations. They document and share their learnings openly so that other municipalities and organizations can replicate the model. Pretty Good is a member of SENS, Circular Economy Switzerland, and Der Gewerbeverein.

Dao Ethical Gifts empowers vulnerable women and produces ethically and sustainably sourced corporate gifts, branded merchandise, and responsible packaging in Chiang Mai, Thailand. They create bags, T-shirts, aprons, conference folders, event lanyards, bottle holders, packaging solutions, and other branded products from upcycled fabrics, organic textiles, bamboo, handmade paper, and other natural materials. Their parent organization, Baan Dek Foundation (BDF), enables mothers in urban slums, construction site camps, and other marginalized communities to end cycles of poverty and violence through work readiness coaching, financial literacy training, safe childcare solutions, training, and upskilling. Dao Ethical Gifts creates income opportunities for these women and reinvests all surplus in BDF’s Women Empowerment Project. Rayito de Luna sources beeswax, coconut oil, macadamia oil, avocado oil, mamey oil, turmeric oil, anise, spearmint, lavender, lemon verbena, and lemon balm essential oils, and other botanical ingredients from small-scale producers in Milpa Alta, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Hidalgo, Morelos, and Estado de México. They practice rainwater harvesting, use returnable and refillable glass containers and compostable wrappers, and deliver by bicycle courier in Mexico City to prevent emissions. All products have been cruelty-free verified. Rayito de Luna is a certified B Corporation and a signatory of The Climate Pledge. They publish buying guides and a boycott list to educate consumers about tax avoidance, labor abuse, and the concentration of wealth and power among megacorp brands owned or controlled by billionaires. Cobbled Goods is also creating a shared knowledge base for small footwear businesses to document and exchange information on suppliers, materials, financing, and distribution services. Monduli CDTI also provides research, consultancy, enterprise development, business incubation, capacity building, skills development, mentorship, and technical assistance services for farmers, artisans, cooperatives, community groups, and local governments. They promote sustainable cultivation, value addition, and commercialization of agroforestry products such as calabash, indigenous trees, and beekeeping. Monduli CDTI’s Vibuyu Value Chain initiative replaces plastics with natural calabash-based bowls, cups, drinking gourds, plates, spoons, and reusable containers for storing food, water, and grains. Production waste is composted, reused, or recycled, and low-energy production methods are prioritized. They offer farm-fresh goat milk in glass bottles and dried goat manure for organic gardening. The goats are housed in comfortable raised goat sheds at night to protect them from predators and weather conditions and are able to roam freely during the day. Konya Farms employs local people, provides dry rations to rural families in need, and funds a bus service on a rural road with no public transport to make it easier for children to get to school and for families to access essential services. They minimize plastic use and participate in environmental awareness and tree-planting initiatives.

Flores Eternas designs and creates decorative flowers using recovered textile materials in Córdoba, Argentina. They offer floral arches, centerpieces, table decorations, window displays, and bouquets for weddings, product launches, and other events. Their environmentally responsible decorations replace imported plastic flower arrangements and give a second life to salvaged or surplus materials that would otherwise be discarded as waste. Flores Eternas offers a 50 percent discount for events hosted by organizations that assist low-income individuals in the local community.

Seawater designs and produces women’s clothing from textile waste and provides flexible home-based employment for women in Sri Lanka. They create shirts, dresses, pants, skirts, and tops from deadstock fabrics sourced directly from garment export factories at Biyagama Export Processing Zone. Seawater upcycles fabric offcuts to make small accessories such as pouches, laptop cases, and keychain wallets under the NadzEssentials brand. They prioritize natural fibers such as cotton and linen and produce in small batches and limited collections to reduce waste. Seawater works with skilled local women who sew at home and earn a stable income while caring for their families. They aim to make their products affordable to all, including vulnerable groups who cannot afford branded clothing. Seawater uses just-in-time packaging to reduce surplus stock and waste.
Galigamuwa, Sri Lanka
Rewilden by I’su creates environmentally responsible apparel, housewares, and stationery and supports nature conservation in Sri Lanka. They specialize in clothing, accessories, and home textiles made from natural fibers and plant-based dyes. Rewilden by I’su collaborates with values-aligned brands that support women and differently abled people. They donate one percent of all profits from their own products to independent nature conservation initiatives.
